MODULE TEN
EXPOSURE AND FOCUS ON FORM

The unit ten was about the importance of exposure in the way learners
understand and learn the (1)target
language. I
learnt that it is vital to give our students a period where they can be
receptive learners letting them to use a (2)silent period. Then, the interaction with
other people is also important to (3)acquire the
language. Interaction lets students to communicate successfully by adding new
words to their vocabulary using their own thoughts which means (4) paraphrasing. As teachers we
should know the (5) learning style of
our students, their tastes at learning would help to select the best activities
for them, as for example: visual learners would love to (6) highlight the
text in order to understand better. As it state Gavin Rein
"Relatively stable indicator of a person preferences of a cognitive and
environmental learning preference" (p 7).Combining the teaching of (7) form and
the exposure could benefit students to have grammatical bases and the ability
to speak. . I would apply the knowledge in a teaching situation making my
students (8)noticing the grammatical features of a
text while they reading.

Combining form and exposure is a great idea to expose our learners to thetarget language and to make them notice how the language is used and formed
